Founded in 1992, Clifford M. Scholz Architects (CMSA) has since set an everlasting architectural benchmark in many of Southwest Florida’s most affluent and architecturally demanding private communities and neighborhoods.
Based in Sarasota, Fla., the CMSA team of design professionals specializes in the areas of luxury residences, private golf and country clubs, corporate properties, and challenging renovations.
The environments created by the firm may begin as a hand-drawn sketch, further developed using the latest CAD technology, and finished with great care and attention to detail. The craftsmanship is always impeccable.
On the business side, CMSA projects are driven by its clients’ timelines and all-important budgets. Rather than offering promises, the company prefers to have new prospects speak directly to past clients and inquire about their experience with the firm and the projects it have completed.
As founder, Scholz brings more than 35 years of experience in architecture and construction. His sense of design and clear-cut goals have guided his firm and created a reputation for quality and excellence.
As lead architect, he is the primary client contact and is responsible for design and construction management for all CMSA projects. Behind his tenacity for details and timeliness, his clients find him friendly and very easy to work with.
Scholz is an active member of the community and maintains memberships in the Florida Gulf Coast Chapter of the American Institute of Architects, NCARB, Chamber of Commerce of Sarasota County, National Trust for Historic Preservation, and is a Leadership Sarasota Alumni.
He is also a Certifying Agent for the Florida Green Building Coalition, and LEED AP certified by the US Green Building Council.
Scholz received his Bachelor of Science in Architecture from Lawrence Institute of Technology in Southfield, Mich., and a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Fla. He is also a Licensed General Contractor in the State of Florida.
