Even with the updates, which include a stunning new bayside bar with views that stretch to an endless horizon, the timeless features of the resort remain unchanged.
Guests still see the beautiful architecture and old-world charm of the 1912 mansion, which anchors the resort; the lush front lawn offering croquet; and the quietly luxurious rooms.
The mansion’s history, as the Nickerson family summer home, is documented with photos from the early 1900s and – new this summer – a docent who will conduct mansion tours for guests.
This summer also marks a lineup of complimentary experiences that embody the great American summer spirit: educational beach walks on the famed Brewster Flats to an oyster farm; golf lessons by PGA professionals at Ocean Edge, on the Cape’s only Nicklaus Design golf course; and a new freshwater activity center on Blueberry Pond, where guests can partake in kayaking and paddle-boarding.
Also new, a “Bay to Table” experience offering local Brewster oysters and a pale ale specially brewed for the resort by Cape Cod Beer, best enjoyed at the new bar located on the mansion’s bayside Ocean Terrace.
For families and small groups, Ocean Edge offers The Presidential Bay Collection, 31 newly renovated two- and three-bedroom villas. Amenities include a fridge stocked with gourmet provisions, handy washer and dryer facilities, and concierge service, while the resort’s private beach is just a stroll away.
