Michael Douglas Working to Develop a New Resort on Bermuda

The Academy Award winner is currently exploring options to develop a new Ariel Sands hotel on land in Bermuda that’s been in his family for generations.

Until it closed in early 2008, the Ariel Sands hotel, set on 14 acres of waterfront on Bermuda’s south shore, was owned and operated by the Bermuda branch of Douglas’s family tree since it opened in 1954.

But Douglas is now working closely with local experts in Bermuda to re-develop the property.  Nothing definite has been announced yet, but chances are the new resort will include villas, restaurants, a beach bar, and spa in addition to being located on one of Bermuda’s best beaches.

Preliminary renderings also show, the new Ariel Sands is also going to feature the famous “ocean pool” that the old Ariel Sands had too.
