The much anticipated collaboration between award-winning, luxury outdoor furnishings manufacturer Castelle and renowned author and interior designer, Barclay Butera is set to be unveiled at the April 2017 High Point Furniture Market. The custom cast aluminum expertise of Castelle and the artistry and aesthetic of Butera have resulted in the creation of an original design outdoor furniture collection. The Barclay Butera Outdoor Collection for Castelle will be presented for the first time in the Castelle High Point showroom at IHFC Main 101 during the international furniture market being held April 22 – 26, 2017.

The collaboration with Butera was initially announced in June of 2016. From that time, the designer worked with the Castelle manufacturing team in the creation and execution of the deep seating collection including a sofa, love seat, lounge chair, ottoman and coordinating tables. Based on inspiration found in a European ceiling tile-like motif, the seating group features intricate side and back castings highlighted with strong curving arms and gold-tone finials and foot embellishments. Completing the designer’s signature look is the integration of a navy and white color story that includes a white finish selection and coordinating textiles.
“I wanted to design a modern way to truly bring together an indoor to outdoor design aesthetic successfully,” said Butera. “I was looking for a fresh, transitional look that will appeal to both traditional and contemporary tastes. With my Southern Californian roots, Castelle allowed me to combine within this collection my two favorite things, high-design and luxurious outdoor living. As with indoor, the result was elegant while open and approachable at the same time.”
The debut of the Barclay Butera Outdoor Collection for Castelle will include a launch reception with Butera on hand for the product unveiling. “Brunch & Bellinis with Barclay” will be held from 12:00 Noon to 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 23rd in the Castelle High Point showroom and is open to all attendees of the market.

Butera is the author of five coffee-table books featuring Barclay Butera Modern Living (Gibbs-Smith, 2016) that includes numerous outdoor living designs.
The Barclay Butera Outdoor Collection for Castelle collaboration joins a long list of premiere product lines that carry the designer’s name. Barclay’s spectacular interior design projects and his myriad of licensing collections are frequently featured in luxury consumer publications, decor and lifestyle magazines.
The introduction of the Butera collection will continue during the ICFA (International Casual Furnishings Association) Preview Show in July 2017 and the ICFA Casual Market Chicago in September 2017.
