Fort Lauderdale, Fla., has been transitioning to a more sophisticated beach chic destination in recent years, and the luxury lifestyle trend continues unabated.

Auberge Beach Residences & Spa is the city’s most recent luxury development on the drawing boards, and is tipped to be one of Fort Lauderdale’s most coveted addresses when it opens in 2017.

The 171-residence development will be perched on 450 feet of Atlantic Ocean beachfront along with an upscale restaurant and dedicated spa.

Located on the site of the former Ireland’s Inn Beach resort, the residences will enjoy panoramic views and world-class amenities. Units are now selling, ranging from $1.5 million to $8 million.

The luxury resort operator Auberge Resorts (Esperanza Resort in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, and Calistoga Ranch in Napa Valley) will manage the property, in partnership with The Related Group and Fortune International Group.

Related’s CEO and chairman Jorge Perez believes Fort Lauderdale will be the next transformative emerging market in South Florida, and Auberge will drive a growing demand among local and international buyers.

“With its unparalleled level of design, services and amenities, Auberge Beach Residences & Spa will be a game-changer for luxury living in Fort Lauderdale,” says Edgardo Defortuna, founder and CEO of Fortune International Group.

Auberge is renowned for its spa offerings. “Fort Lauderdale is a sophisticated market serving an affluent, well traveled clientele that knows our brand and our style of luxury,” adds Craig Reid, the CEO of Auberge Resorts Collection.

Nicholas, Brosch, Wurst, Wolf & Associates – the architects behind major condominium projects including W Hotel & Residences Miami Beach and The Ritz-Carlton Resort & Residences Key Biscayne – are behind Auberge.

Meyer Davis, the New York-based interior design firm whose portfolio includes W Hotel Mexico City and Capri Hotel Southampton, has been selected to design interior spaces that reflect a relaxed, yet elegant vibe.

Auberge will also offer its residents an indoor-outdoor lounge and restaurant on the beach, swimming pools and lush gardens, a library, business center, fitness center and children’s playroom.

Guests can dine and lounge poolside. A bonus: Jorge Perez, a renowned art collector and patron of Miami’s acclaimed Perez Art Museum (PAMM), will also install a world-class contemporary art collection, including important sculptural pieces. aubergebeach.com.
