Hard Rock Hotels introduces a new all-inclusive oceanfront property in Cancun.

In true Hard Rock style, Hard Rock Hotels and the All Inclusive Collection debuted the Hard Rock Hotel Cancun in October with a high-octane, star-studded weekend. The celebration included concerts by rapper Flo Rida and mood rockers the Goo Goo Dolls, a beachside pool party hosted by TV star Wilmer Valderrama (“That ’70s Show”), and a Pinktober fashion show featuring an auction and all-pink clothing by Mexican designers in support of breast cancer research. Eschewing the traditional Champagne-bottle christening, Hard Rock instead held its own traditional Guitar Smash ceremony, during which celebrities and Hard Rock executives donned hard hats and smashed electric guitars on the hotel’s third-floor pool terrace.

The resort’s “Welcome to the Jungle” theme begins with a dramatic guitar-shaped driveway and continues in the lobby, which features neon-lit glass stairs and sheer metallic curtains. Bellmen and other front-of-house staff sport Hard Rock polos with long sleeves that create the illusion of heavily tattooed arms. This is rock ‘n’ roll.

The Hard Rock’s 12 floors comprise 601 glam guest rooms, which are outfitted with amenities like flat-screen TVs, Jacuzzi tubs, and balconies with views of the pool deck and the ocean or Nichupte Lagoon. Both real-life rock stars and wannabes can hole up and hang out in one of the hotel’s Rock Star Suites to get the full Hard Rock effect.

Sound a little too MTV for your taste? Although its opening celebrations seemed like a realistic peek into the rock star lifestyle, Hard Rock officials say that the property will, during regular operation, seamlessly cater to all guests, whether they be young and single or have kids in tow. (For its Grand Opening, music often blared poolside until the early morning hours, but during regular operation, after-hours dance parties and DJ sets will move to the resort’s indoor ballrooms, keeping noise contained.) Parents who want to experience the best of both worlds will delight in the hotel’s Kids Club Program, which keeps tots occupied with everything from art classes and treasure hunts to movies and pajama parties.

Whoever they are and whatever kind of experience they seek, guests at the Hard Rock Hotel Cancun can find it here. The hotel’s concierge staff can arrange outings to nearby sites, or guests can enjoy on-site beach activities, sunbathe by the infinity-edge pool, and, of course, browse the hotel’s enormous collection of music memorabilia.

Between outdoor adventures, Hard Rock guests can grab a bite to eat at one of its five restaurants, toast their good times at one of five lounges and bars, shoot pool or play air hockey in the lobby lounge, and get some R&R in at Rock Spa, which offers outdoor palapa-style treatment rooms for guests who can’t get enough of Cancun’s balmy ocean breeze. It’s just the R&R they’ll need to feel refreshed and ready to unwind like rock royalty. Hard Rock Hotels will open the Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya later this year.
