Marco Beach Ocean Resort website recently received the highest possible honor in the Web Marketing Association’s (WMA) Internet Advertising Competition (IAC), which helps establish a standard for Internet marketing and corporate web development. The redesign objective was clearly defined by the marketing team. “Showcase the beautiful resort, differentiate it from other resort websites, make it user friendly and provide the ‘wow’ factor when visiting” said Mary Jane Chappy, Director of Marketing.
“Functionality was also very important to us. The site was designed so we could quickly and easily update new content, photos and specials.” The website is a custom, modern design focused on utilizing the latest usability best practices, including design elements such as large imagery, layered calls to action, area guides, webcam and integrated social media. The site also included professional copywriting and SEO. The website has produced tremendous traffic, online reservations and results.

The WMA was founded in Boston in 1997 to help set a high standard for Internet marketing and corporate web development on the World Wide Web. The organization is made up of Internet marketing, advertising, PR and design professionals. In 1999, the WMA decided to create a new award program to recognize outstanding online advertising in all of its various forms. The IAC Awards were born.
