The temperature in some parts of the country was really, really cold. A friend just tweeted that going out in the cold made her “face hurt.” And our friends ended up hating us (my wife and 6-year-old came with me!), but basking in the sun at the Four Seasons Resort and Residences Anguilla, while bitter cold and snow had a grip on the Northeast, made this little family/business trip feel even more special.
Actually, the special feelings started way before we heard about the cold back home. In fact, they started on the 30-minute boat ride over from the airport in St. Martin. And our feelings of relaxation and contentment only intensified as we entered the elegantly wide-open main lobby.
But the best thing about the design and layout of this modern beachfront resort is the way it organically integrates private beachfront villas, multi-unit Point House, and Beach residences into a community that also features multiple “resort-style” pools, diverse dining options, a long list of watersports and activities, and dedicated “kid zone,” all on one of the best beaches in the Caribbean. All this means owners and guests can be as active or as social as they want to be.
For instance, some of our more active days involved walking the beach at sunrise, eating breakfast at Coba overlooking the Caribbean, swimming in the kid-friendly pool (our 6-year old loved it!), lunch at the Bamboo Bar & Grill, and sailing on the resort’s Hobie Cat.
And if that wasn’t enough for one day, we then gorged ourselves on
We could do all that stuff and more if we owned one of the ultra-luxe beachfront free-standing villas on the property too. Or, we could choose to relax and be a bit more private by having breakfast at home—either delivered by room service or prepared by a private chef in the villa’s well-designed kitchen.
Or we could simply enjoy a coffee on our large private patio, or take a dip in our own zero edge pool overlooking the water or chill out on our own little stretch of Barnes Bay beach. Owners and guests get the best of both worlds.
Another cool thing about this luxe resort community is that it’s located on one of the true hidden gems of the Caribbean. Anguilla is not only rich in natural beauty and unspoiled beaches,

Watching Anderson (the crew of the boat we’d hired to take us on a tour of the island) teach our little one about the hermit crabs with kindness and love was priceless.
And the way the Four Seasons Resort & Residences Anguilla combined luxury, beauty
