166 year old Swiss Watchmaker Ulysse Nardin Introduces Baseball All-Star as Company’s Brand Ambassador.

In a perfect pairing of sport and style, luxury Swiss watch manufacturer Ulysse Nardin, the leader in timepiece invention and innovation, announced Randy “The Big Unit” Johnson, one of the greatest pitchers ever to play America’s favorite pastime, as a company brand ambassador. Johnson will also be the first person in the United States to have an Ulysse Nardin timepiece made in his honor.

Johnson and Ulysse Nardin CEO, Patrik Hoffmann officially announced the relationship at Diamondback Stadium in Phoenix, Arizona on June 4th during a special event to benefit The Muhammad Ali Parkinson Center at Barrow Neurological Institute. “The Big Unit” timepiece, which is under development, will be unveiled in the fall and available at select boutiques and stores in late 2012 or early 2013.

“Randy Johnson is a Ulysse Nardin enthusiast and is the epitome of excellence on the pitcher’s mound,” said Hoffmann. “As a company, our quest is to be exceptional, and we are thrilled to be teaming up with an American sports icon, who understands our pledge to innovative watchmaking.” Randy Johnson is a legend in baseball, not only for his 6’10” stature, but also for his dominant pitching ability during the course of his 22-year career. He retired from the game in 2009, and his record-breaking statistics and long list of accomplishments have him at the top of the list for Hall of Fame status when he becomes eligible in 2015.
