If you’re looking to get away in the coming months, your first priority is likely safety. While all hotels have changed how they do business to adjust to these crazy times, some resorts have gone above and beyond to ensure guest safety.

Below are three of our favorite Caribbean resorts, the safety measures they’re taking, and the memorable guest experiences they’re offering. Consider relaxing and recharging at one of these top tier hotels.

Amanyara

Turks & Caicos

Located on a secluded nature reserve in Turks & Caicos, Amanyara, meaning ‘peaceful place,’ is a quiet haven, surrounded by turquoise waters and white sand beaches. All rooms and three- to six-bedroom villas are standalone, allowing guests to isolate from others while still enjoying the resort in its full capacity. Villas afford their own private infinity pools and decks, and many overlook reflective ponds or ocean views.

Guests can experience a secluded wellness getaway fully customized to their preferences, perfect for those looking to spend their entire Amanyara vacation in the privacy of their own villa to truly stay socially distanced from others. Villa guests can even coordinate with the chef and the wellness team to tailor their 100% in-villa getaway, complete with private spa and dining services.

When possible, rooms aren’t booked back to back to allow the hotel to thoroughly clean and air out rooms in between guests. Guests can also opt out of daily linen changing and turn down service. Staff will wear masks when serving guests. Perhaps Amanyara’s biggest strength in these times is its size—the resort is a largely open-air experience, set over many acres, allowing guests to keep proper distance from each other naturally.

Their nature programming is also particularly alluring during these challenging times. Nature experiences at the beautiful property include scuba diving, watersports activities like kayaking and paddleboarding, and guided nature walks.

Amanera

Dominican Republic

Another Caribbean resort under the luxury Aman umbrella, Amanera, capitalizes on its generous property size and 25 private casitas to distance its guests organically. The resort stretches over seven miles of Atlantic seacoast and 2,000 acres of lush forest, in which guests can enjoy a guided nature hike through expanses of protected jungle brimming with tropical flora and fauna.

Housekeeping will sanitize all casitas daily focusing on airing out rooms and disinfecting high-touch areas, or guest can use their own sanitizing kit if preferred. All public areas will be sanitized regularly, and private dining is available.

Their out-of-this-world wellness experiences focus on the moon’s cycle and its healing properties. In the “Healing Through Lunar Forces” program, guests will become attuned to the physical and emotional healing of the moon through sunrise yoga and meditation, nature walks, and healthy cooking classes. A visit during the new moon, which promotes renewal, will see a Palo Santo smudging ceremony and a deep tissue massage, while a visit during the waxing moon, which instilla energy, will include a full body coffee exfoliation.

Amanera is also harnessing the healing power of nature with the new ‘Holistic Immune Support Retreat,’ which includes herbal medicinal remedies, yoga, meditation, a workout, a tailored menu with local ingredients, a balancing facial, and other immune-boosting spa treatments.

Hilton Aruba

Aruba

The Hilton Aruba Caribbean Resort & Casino has rolled out rigorous cleaning standards everywhere in the hotel, from arrival to departure. Guests can choose a completely contactless check-in with the free Hilton Honors mobile app. The hotel has ramped up sanitation protocols, making sure guest rooms, pool areas, fitness centers, and other public areas are sanitized frequently, with physical distancing measures also in place.

However, the most effective way to prevent the spread of COVID is to avoid contact with other people, as the CDC reports that the virus is mainly thought to spread directly from person to person. For this reason, Hilton Aruba offers a new Sunset Concierge service, allowing guests a scenic private dining experience right at sunset. Guests can even opt for a sunset car or kayak ride, too, and a concierge will work to pull of their entire evening without a hitch.

A luxurious spin on a sign of the times, the Eforea Spa has introduced an aloe handwashing ritual at the beginning of any spa treatment, which consists of Aruba Aloe soap, Aloe hand scrub, hand sanitizer, and lotion.
