In response to the growing demand for more product and destination features, Ocean Home has undergone a redesign, unveiling the new look with its February/March 2013 issue. The redesign includes more features, bigger pictures, and a new logo. Comments Rick Sedler, president of RMS Media Group, publisher of Ocean Home: “When the magazine started in 2006, Ocean Home was dedicated to the real estate industry, including agents of oceanfront property listings, as well as developers of coastal properties. Although we focused on the trade components of coastal living, our subscribers wanted more lifestyle and décor features. The redesign captures the essence of our magazine’s core mission of catering to our readers’ high-end lifestyle, whether they have owned a coastal home and want to accessorize it, or they are looking for a new oceanfront home.”

Changes to the editorial content include a new department, “Town Focus,” in which Ocean Home dedicates feature space to one coastal location, going in depth to paint a picture of what vacationing—or living—in that destination would be like. For the February/March issue, Ocean Home’s first Town Focus brings readers to Coronado Island in Southern California.

The editorial team also swapped out its former back page, “Sea Life,” with a new closer called “Point of View.” The new page features a photograph from inside a room of a private home that affords a stunning sea view. “It’s the perfect ending point and it beautifully sums up the mood of Ocean Home,” adds Lindsay Lambert, editor of Ocean Home. “In addition, we’ve added more product pages, for both the home and personal style, showing readers the latest must-haves for their coastal homes and travels.”

The new look of Ocean Home magazine includes a new, fresh logo, updated fonts and color schemes, and expanded and new sections. “In addition to showcasing homes and resorts, the new Ocean Home celebrates the beauty and active lifestyle of coastal living. We offer readers a fresh approach to the traditional shelter magazine,” says design director Ryan Jolley, who joined Ocean Home in October 2012 and spearheaded the redesign. The February/March issue brings with it a larger feature well, giving readers more photos, tips, and in-depth stories. See Ocean Home’s fresh look at: oceanhomemag.com/subscribe/digitaledition.
