Travelers looking for an exceptionally private Caribbean escape will soon have an opportunity to experience one of Barbuda’s most anticipated luxury developments before its official opening. The Beach Club, Barbuda, co-founded by Academy Award-winning actor Robert De Niro, is accepting reservations for a limited number of stays in two beachfront tented suites beginning in late December 2026, nearly a year before the resort’s planned debut.
Stretching along two miles of shoreline on Barbuda’s southwest coast, the property represents the realization of a vision De Niro has pursued for more than three decades. The development will eventually include Nobu Beach Inn, a 36-room boutique resort scheduled to open in late 2027. For now, a select number of guests can experience the destination through an intimate, fully serviced beachfront retreat.
Luxury Under Canvas on Princess Diana Beach
Designed by Luxury Frontiers, the two tented suites combine the atmosphere of an open-air island retreat with the comforts of a high-end resort. Positioned steps from Princess Diana Beach, each air-conditioned accommodation features a king-size bed, freestanding soaking tub, outdoor shower and private shaded terrace.
Generous indoor and outdoor living areas take advantage of the surrounding coastal landscape, creating a setting where guests can spend much of their time enjoying the island’s natural beauty. The design emphasizes privacy and a close connection to the environment, with the Caribbean Sea and Barbuda’s famously uncrowded beaches providing the backdrop.

Unlike a conventional resort stay, the experience is tailored to just a handful of visitors, with a dedicated Nobu hospitality team available to coordinate personalized activities, dining and wellness experiences throughout each day.
Private Dining and Island Adventures
Guests can begin the morning with breakfast on their terrace, arrange an in-suite massage or head out onto the water with the property’s resident watersports specialists. Paddleboarding, kayaking and boat excursions offer opportunities to discover secluded sandbars, while snorkeling trips introduce visitors to the reefs surrounding Barbuda.
Beyond the beach, the island is home to one of the Caribbean’s most remarkable wildlife attractions, the Frigate Bird Sanctuary, where visitors can observe the magnificent seabirds in their natural habitat.

Dining is another defining element of the experience. Guests have access to bespoke culinary offerings from Nobu Barbuda, including beachfront barbecues featuring freshly caught seafood. For a more intimate evening, a private omakase dinner prepared by the restaurant’s executive chef can also be arranged.
After sunset, the remote setting offers another attraction. The property is classified as a Class 2 location on the Bortle dark-sky scale, making it an exceptional destination for stargazing, with minimal light pollution and expansive views of the night sky.
A Preview of Barbuda’s Next Luxury Destination
The early accommodations provide a glimpse of the hospitality experience planned for Nobu Beach Inn, which will introduce a new boutique resort to Barbuda when it opens in late 2027. The project is particularly personal for De Niro, whose connection to the island and ambition to develop a retreat along this stretch of coastline extend back more than 30 years.
Barbuda has long appealed to travelers seeking a quieter alternative to the Caribbean’s larger resort destinations. Its pink-sand beaches, clear turquoise waters and relatively undeveloped coastline have helped preserve a sense of seclusion that is increasingly difficult to find elsewhere in the region.

For travelers interested in experiencing the destination before the full resort opens, the tented suites offer a rare opportunity to enjoy the property at its most intimate, with personalized service and direct access to one of the island’s most celebrated beaches.
Rates begin at $3,500 per night, plus tax, including breakfast, a beachfront barbecue dinner and non-motorized watersports.
Reservations are now available through The Beach Club’s Under Canvas experience.
